2026 Audi Q7 55 TFSI Review: The Quietly Excellent Luxury SUV
Hamza Khan·30 April 2026·11 min read
The Q7 rarely makes headlines, but after 10 days in the UAE, it earns them. The 2026 update brings Virtual Cockpit Plus, improved ADAS and a retuned suspension that finally suits UAE roads.
Verdict
Pros: - Revised suspension genuinely improves UAE ride quality - Virtual Cockpit Plus is among the best digital instruments available - 7-seat configuration with usable third row
Cons: - 340 hp feels ordinary for the price - Exterior design evolution is too subtle — hard to distinguish from 2024 - Third row is tight for adults over 180 cm
Price range: AED 339,000 – 449,000 Best for: Buyers who want European luxury, 7 seats and comprehensive technology Not for: Driving enthusiasts or off-road aspirants
Introduction
I drove the 2026 Q7 55 TFSI quattro in S line specification for 10 days across Dubai and Abu Dhabi — a varied diet of Sheikh Zayed Road commutes, school runs and the ADNOC headquarters drive from Abu Dhabi.
Key Specs
| Spec | Q7 45 TFSI | Q7 55 TFSI |
|---|---|---|
| Engine | 2.0T 4-cyl | 3.0T V6 |
| Power | 249 hp | 340 hp |
| Torque | 370 Nm | 500 Nm |
| 0–100 km/h | 7.1 sec | 5.7 sec |

| Price (AED) | 339,000 | 389,000 |
Interior Quality
The Q7's interior is Audi's best current expression — and in S line specification, it rivals the BMW X5 and Mercedes GLE in material quality. The 10.1-inch MMI touchscreen lacks the pixel density of BMW's system but is logically organised. The Virtual Cockpit Plus dashboard display — Audi's 12.3-inch full-digital instrument cluster — is genuinely the benchmark for driver information display.
Third-row space: 780 mm of legroom accommodates children comfortably and adults in a pinch. The Q7's third row is better used for children than adults.
Driving Experience
The 3.0-litre supercharged V6 in the 55 TFSI delivers 340 hp with 500 Nm available from 1,370 rpm. On the Abu Dhabi motorway, it feels more than adequate. At UAE motorway speeds, the Q7 is composed and quiet — air suspension (standard on 55 TFSI) absorbs surface irregularities with the confidence of a much more expensive car.
The 2026 suspension re-tune specifically targets UAE-market feedback: speed hump absorption is noticeably better than the outgoing model. UAE buyers have consistently cited this as a weakness — Audi has listened.
Fuel consumption over my 900 km test: 11.2 L/100 km — slightly above official but acceptable for a 340 hp V6 SUV.
Rivals
BMW X7 xDrive40i (AED 399,000): Larger, more powerful. The Q7 is better value. Mercedes GLS 450 4MATIC (AED 429,000): More powerful, more established luxury credentials.
Our Verdict
The Q7 55 TFSI is the most balanced large luxury SUV in the UAE at its price. The 2026 suspension improvement — subtle but real — removes the main criticism UAE reviewers had of the outgoing model. Recommended without hesitation for buyers seeking a logical, technologically refined family transport.
Recommended: Q7 55 TFSI quattro S line in Daytona Grey.
