Tesla has reduced Model Y pricing in the UAE across all variants, with the Long Range AWD now starting at AED 189,900 — down from AED 204,900.
Tesla has reduced Model Y pricing in the UAE, continuing the pattern of strategic price adjustments the company uses globally to maintain market share. All variants have been reduced, with the Long Range AWD seeing the largest cut of AED 15,000.
What We Know
Updated UAE Model Y pricing from January 15, 2026:
| Variant | Previous Price | New Price | Saving |
|---|---|---|---|
| Model Y Standard Range | AED 159,900 | AED 154,900 | AED 5,000 |
| Model Y Long Range AWD | AED 204,900 | AED 189,900 | AED 15,000 |
| Model Y Performance | AED 229,900 | AED 219,900 | AED 10,000 |
The cuts apply to all in-stock vehicles and new orders. Customers who ordered within the last 30 days can request a price match — Tesla UAE customer service confirmed this on enquiry.
What Changed?
Tesla has not confirmed what drove the price reduction. Globally, Tesla has been reducing prices since early 2023 to defend volume against growing competition from BYD, Hyundai and others. In the UAE, the arrival of the BYD Seal at AED 149,900 and the Hyundai IONIQ 6 at AED 174,900 created direct competitive pressure on the Model Y's previous pricing.
What This Means for Buyers
The Long Range AWD at AED 189,900 is a landmark price. It positions the Model Y under the psychological AED 200,000 barrier — the price point at which many UAE buyers have set their maximum for an EV — while remaining AED 15,000 below its nearest direct competitor on range (the Hyundai IONIQ 6 AWD at AED 174,900 offers less range).
For buyers comparing the Model Y Long Range against the IONIQ 6 AWD: the Tesla's Supercharger network advantage — 43 stations vs 18 DEWA-compatible fast chargers — justifies the AED 15,000 premium for buyers who travel regularly between emirates.
Existing owners see their car's value decline slightly with the price cut — this is the accepted trade-off with Tesla ownership and is well-understood in the UAE market.
What Happens Next
Tesla is expected to begin deliveries of the refreshed Model Y — codenamed Juniper — in UAE in Q2 2026. The Juniper refresh includes a redesigned front and rear, updated interior and revised suspension tuning. Current pricing will likely remain stable until the Juniper arrives.
