The Dodge Brothers Company was founded in 1900 by John and Horace Dodge, two skilled machinists who initially supplied parts to Henry Ford. After supplying engines and chassis to Ford for years, the brothers launched their own car in 1914 — it was an immediate success. Horace and John both died in 1920, leaving the brand to be sold to Chrysler in 1928. Dodge today carries on as Chrysler's muscle car and performance truck brand.
