BAIC

BAIC (Beijing Automotive Industry Holding) was founded in 1958 as part of China's Soviet-era industrialisation drive. Originally manufacturing utilitarian vehicles for the state, BAIC grew into one of China's largest automotive groups through decades of joint ventures and expansion. The company partnered with Mercedes-Benz and Hyundai, rapidly absorbing global technology and engineering know-how. Today BAIC produces millions of vehicles annually under its own brands and through international partnerships.
