Li Auto

Li Auto — also known as Li Xiang — was founded in 2015 in Beijing by serial entrepreneur Li Xiang, who had previously built China's largest online automotive marketplace. The company pioneered the extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) concept for Chinese buyers, addressing range anxiety with a small petrol engine acting as a generator. Li Auto's L series of large, family-focused SUVs became a massive commercial success in China. The brand went public on NASDAQ in 2020 and has since become one of China's most profitable EV start-ups.
