Rivian

Rivian was founded in 2009 by R.J. Scaringe in Florida as an electric vehicle start-up with an ambitious vision to build adventure-oriented electric trucks. The company spent years developing its platform in relative obscurity before emerging with the R1T pickup and R1S SUV in 2018, shocking the industry with their capability and polish. Amazon invested in Rivian in 2019 and ordered 100,000 electric delivery vans — one of the largest automotive fleet orders in history. Rivian's IPO in 2021 was the largest US IPO since Facebook.
