McLaren Automotive was founded in 1985 by Ron Dennis as a road car division of the McLaren Formula One team. The company's first road car, the McLaren F1 of 1992, became the fastest production car in the world and remains one of the greatest driver's cars ever made. McLaren relaunched as a full production car company in 2010 with the MP4-12C, establishing a factory in Woking, Surrey adjacent to the McLaren Technology Centre. Every McLaren is still hand-assembled in Woking, combining racing technology with bespoke luxury.
