Chery

Chery was founded in 1997 in Wuhu, Anhui province by a group of local government officials determined to build China's own passenger car. Defying early scepticism, Chery became China's first significant independent automaker to challenge the state-owned giants. It gained early fame as the first Chinese brand to export cars to Europe and developing markets. Today Chery is a global player with operations across dozens of countries.
