BMW iX3 Arrives in UAE with 460 km Range from AED 269,000

BMW's electric mid-size SUV launches in UAE with an updated 77.8 kWh battery, 340 hp, and standard equipment package that targets the Tesla Model Y and Hyundai IONIQ 6 directly.

When: Available from February 2026 Who it affects: Premium electric SUV buyers in the AED 250,000–300,000 price bracket Key figure: AED 269,000 starting price — AED 65,900 less than the iX xDrive40 Source: BMW Middle East press release, February 2026

BMW has launched the updated iX3 in the UAE, providing a lower-entry-point option into the brand's electric vehicle lineup. The iX3 arrives at AED 269,000 in M Sport specification as standard — the only available trim in the UAE.

What We Know

The 2026 iX3 features a revised 77.8 kWh battery (up from 74 kWh in the previous generation) paired to a single rear-axle electric motor producing 340 hp and 400 Nm. WLTP range is 460 km — UAE real-world estimate: 380–400 km.

Charging: DC fast charge at up to 150 kW. A 10–80% charge takes 29 minutes at a 150 kW charger, or approximately 60 minutes at a 50 kW DEWA public charger.

M Sport Standard Equipment

UAE-spec iX3 includes as standard: BMW Curved Display (12.3-inch instruments + 14.9-inch touchscreen), Adaptive LED headlights, M Sport body kit and suspension, Harman Kardon audio, wireless charging pad, and panoramic sunroof.

The AED 79,100 premium over the Model Y LR buys BMW brand prestige, a more traditionally premium interior, and iDrive 8.5 — the best OEM infotainment system available. The Tesla wins on range and charging network.

What This Means for Buyers

The iX3 fills a real gap in BMW's UAE lineup: buyers who want an electric BMW but cannot justify the iX xDrive40's AED 334,900. At AED 269,000 it is competitive — though the Tesla Model Y LR remains 29% cheaper with better range. The BMW wins on interior quality and brand value.

What Happens Next

First deliveries of the iX3 begin in February 2026. A full CarsXT road test is planned for Q1 2026.
